What Changes First
In the first conversation: relief, a breath out, language for what’s been hard.
As we work: steadier nervous system, kinder self‑talk, clearer boundaries, practical ways to meet tough moments.
Over time: more self‑compassion, discernment, and a felt sense of “I’m okay. I’m me.”
Shelley’s Approach
Gentle. Collaborative. Trauma‑informed. No rushing, no fixing — you’re not broken.
- Mindfulness & Emotional Regulation – simple practices to steady body and breath when anxiety spikes.
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) – noticing and reshaping harsh, unhelpful thought patterns.
- Narrative Therapy – separating you from the story that says you’re broken; choosing a kinder script.
- Solution‑Focused Strategies – small, doable steps toward what’s working now.
- Somatic Techniques – listening to the body’s cues to process emotion and create balance.
Sessions may include guided visualisations, grounding exercises, quiet reflection, and moments of stillness. You set the pace.

What Clients Say…
I am so grateful that I had Shelley as a life coach for almost a year. It was life changing. She helped me not only increase my self worth but also encouraged my personal growth dealing with relationship challenges and setting boundaries. Shelley’s abundance of empathy makes it so easy to discuss the most difficult and uncomfortable topics. I trust Shelley wholeheartedly and I highly recommend her if you need an understanding, knowledgeable and nonjudgmental person to talk to.

I met Shelley McInroy at a very difficult time in my life after losing my mom to cancer. From minute one I felt her compassion and empathy. She created a safe space for me. Being in trusted hands, it allowed me to open up and share my feelings.
She gave me the tools for every thing that I felt was challenging. She has a gift to help people and guide them through their struggles.
She listens and makes you feel validated. She wants what’s best for you and checks in when you need it most. Anyone would be blessed to be supported by her. I know I am!

Hi, I’m Shelley
Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (ACCT)
Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling — Provisional (CPCA)
Mental Wellness Coach • Clinical Counsellor • Nature Enthusiast • Writer at ❤️

I believe healing is not just in words, but in the ordinary rituals that reconnect us to ourselves.
One of my oldest friends once said I’ve been on this path since I was thirteen. I’ve always felt things deeply. I didn’t always know why, but I could sense when someone was hurting.
Over time, I began to understand: I wasn’t here to fix pain—I was here to sit beside it. To honour it. To listen without urgency. To offer a steady presence in a world that often demands quick solutions.
That intention has guided all of my work—from supporting children and families, to walking alongside adults in moments of crisis or quiet transformation. This isn’t just my profession—it’s a calling, shaped by both personal and professional experience.
Frequently Asked
(and Quietly Wondered)
“I don’t want to dig up the past.”
You don’t have to. You’re in the driver’s seat. We can focus on the present and what’s possible now.
“I should be able to do this on my own.”
Humans are built for connection. Support is not weakness; it’s wise.
“I’m not sure therapy will help.”
You don’t need certainty to begin. We’ll check in together about what’s helping.
“I’m worried about cost.”
Even one session can help you regroup. Packages and payment plans make care more accessible. Ask about sliding‑scale options.
“Is this counselling or coaching?”
Shelley offers both. Counselling is a therapeutic service for processing and healing within a clinical, trauma‑informed scope. Mental wellness coaching focuses on skill‑building and forward momentum (boundaries, routines, compassion practices). If you’re unsure, discuss this with Shelley during your first session — She’ll begin in the safest container and adjust if appropriate.
